About the New 1540 Laser Treatments

1540 is a fractional non-ablative laser (which means the skin does not get burned off) used to improve skin conditions such as:
Skin texture – large pore size, rough texture, sun damage, fine lines and coarse wrinkles
Scars & stretch marks - including acne scarring and other scars such as surgical scars or those from injuries

These treatments can target fine lines around the eyes and mouth area and scarring on all areas of the body.

How does it work?
Pulses of energy are delivered deep into the skin, targeting pigment and stimulating collagen for a smoother and more even appearance. The skin is repaired from the inside – out to the top. The light energy helps stimulate the body to send increased repair signals to the treated areas.

You can expect to see a decrease in sun damage, brown spots, and wrinkles resulting in a smoother more even skin tone.

For scarring and stretch marks, the pulses of light break down the scar tissue and help generate healthy new skin. You can expect to see an overall improvement in the tone and texture of the scar.

Treatment times vary depending on the size of the area, but are generally between 5 and 35 minutes. Depending on the type of problem you wish to improve, a series of 2 to 5 sessions* is needed, and treatments are generally spaced about 3–4 weeks apart.

You may experience mild discomfort with the treatment but it is very tolerable. There is little downtime for most patients. Treatments may result in some redness or pinkness to the area for about 24 hours and some mild swelling could accompany this, depending on the area. Treatments on the entire face may have some “bronzing” to the area for a few days. Non-irritating make up may be worn. It is advisable that treatments to the face be done at least 2 weeks before a significant social event.
